Moniruz Zaman is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Asia Pacific Group Limited, Asia Pacific International Inc. , The Bullion Mart, and Silver-Gold Express. For the past three decades, he has created a global mines-to-marker company from the ground up. His companies work with the refining and production of gold, silver, platinum and palladium.
Zaman is not a newcomer to the precious metals business. His family of bankers and business owners swayed him into the world of dealing, trading, and bullion. He has worked and lived all over the globe including, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Middle East and New York, until he finally landed and established his business in Toronto, Canada. Besides precious metals, Zaman has recently made the foray into numismatics; the study or collection of coins. He is one of only six authorized Royal Canadian Mint dealers in the province, making him an expert in the global bullion industry.
Moniruz believes in giving back and has supported and donated to various charitable causes. Causes close to his heart include women’s right, the Rohingya crises, and access to education. He studied at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, obtaining an Executive Master of Science in Business Administration. With his journalism background, Zaman founded the newapaper and magazine The Probashi, making him the first Bangladeshi publisher and editor to bring a Bengali newspaper to the international market. He has also extended himself to the world market through other industry related publications such as the Bullion Bulletin.
He was previously the president of the Canada-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce for 15 years, the Vice-Chairman of the Canada-Bangladesh Business Council, and achieved the prestigious Entrepreneur Awards for Highest Export from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB)
